How it all started
In 2018, my son and several of his friends opted to take on a vegan diet due to fatigue, bloat, and environmental reasons. Shortly after, they felt that they were missing out on baked goods. So, I set myself the task of trying to make vegan versions of my favourite homemade cakes. It took months to perfect the recipe for a simple vanilla cupcake, but from then on, I couldn’t stop experimenting. I quickly realised that I had renewed my long-term passion for baking, only this time, I was creating vegan delights.
In March 2019, after friends and family had given me heart-warming feedback when trying my cakes over the previous months, my son surprised me with the documents and branding for what is now Kim’s Vegan Cakes. My passion had finally turned into my brand. I was ready to show the world what plant-based products and a whole lot of love could create.
The rest is, as they say, history.
